NASDAQ: REWRITE TOMORROW - PENCIL
THE OBJECTIVE
Mekanism, the agency, and Nasdaq's aim was to inform their audience of Nasdaq’s current presence and brand. The company is not limited to a stock exchange but also focuses on global markets and delivers insights to help improve companies and their output.
CONCEPT & STRATEGY
As Nasdaq deals with trillions of dollars in market capitalization, we wanted to make sure all their complex data and how it tracks around the world were understandable. This brought on the idea to translate all the complex information through an everyday object. These objects represented how Nasdaq analyzes data to improve market performance. The materials involved, manufacturing, distribution, and trade impact the global market. Products like soccer balls, coffee, and pencils make the world go round and shape our future.

MY ROLE
From visualizing the concept all the way through production, my task was to art direct and design for the project. The process started with working through scripts with the storyboard artist. From there, I was able to direct and create the initial style frames with a team of designers to visualize the concept. While working with top-notch designers in-house and all the way across the world, we established the look of data visualization and 3-dimensional environments. I then worked with the animation, CG, and Comp teams at We Are Royale to guide the videos until the end. With the talented creative director Chad Howitt, we finessed the videos by working with colorists to push and pull color values to make sure all shots came together nicely.

THE RESULT
The concept, the narrative structure, and data visualization tie each of the three videos together. Nasdaq’s abilities and influence were communicated as a global innovator, a leader in the forefront, and a company that truly rewrites tomorrow.
