AMAZON LORE- MONSTERS
THE TASK
Derived from the well-known podcast by Aaron Mahnke, Amazon Prime’s Lore brings to light twisted and dark folklore that cultures have passed down for ages. Together with Amazon Prime Video, we created key art, animated promos, and the title sequence in multiple styles to capture Lore’s darkest twisted stories.
THE CONCEPT
The folklore include vampires, werewolves, haunted asylums, terrifying dolls, and more. Because the stories were so diverse, we worked with Amazon and the artists developing the series to allow each story to drive the Illustration style.

MY INVOLVEMENT
From collaborating with the team at Amazon to heading the production team at We Are Royale, I was an integral part of the creative process. Managing the teams, giving art and animation direction, adjusting storyboards, designing, and illustrating were all my responsibility. Looking over the artwork we created, rippling it out to print assets, face timing with clients were also aspects of the project that I led and navigated.

THE OUTCOME
It was a thrilling and rare opportunity to explore styles and push the dark and twisted sides of the stories. Creating bespoke illustrations and styles for each story made the animations and assets extra special. The process allowed for a lot of creativity and was an extensive campaign filled with animated promos, key art posters, thumbnails, box art, gateway banners, and toolkits for the show.
The Lore animated logo was entered for Prime Video by Amazon, Santa Monica and won a 2018 Clio Entertainment Silver. The piece was submitted as Television Streaming: Brand Identity within Television/ Streaming and the category: Main Title. The campaign also made it as a finalist nominated for the Total Package Art Direction Design: Program at the 2018 Promax BDA North America Awards.
