AMAZON: ELECTRIC DREAMS SERIES PREMIERE TRAILER

THE ASK

Amazon partnered with myself and the artists at We Are Royale to develop a 3D animated teaser for Electric Dreams, an adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s Sci-Fi short stories.

THE CORE IDEA

As the Sci-Fi short stories were coming to life as a show, we wanted to tease the moments of discovery leading up to an artificial intelligence coming to life. The surge of energy and it’s result leaves the audience wanting to know and see more. 

THE CREATIVE PROCESS

I had the chance to art direct and work with extremely talented 3D artists, designers, animators, and compositors that came together to create this beautiful and futuristic trailer. I art directed, worked with type layouts, and created compositions to help the creative process along. We collaborated with Amazon’s print department to bring the key art to life and integrate live action with our CG world.

THE RESULT

This Electric Dreams trailer is a beautiful animated sequence that is mysterious and flooded with cyan and magenta lights. It is threaded with beats of discovery that lead up to a moment of awakening. The end result is a stunning and intriguing invitation for viewers to enter into the world of the show.
